  • Are dogs allowed?

Yes, well behaved dogs are more than welcome. Please keep your dog on a lead at all times. Dogs are welcome on market days.

  • What are your opening hours?

We open 7 days a week from 9am – 4.30pm

  • I have heard about the dedicated early morning swim hour, can you tell me more about it?

Yes certainly, we are open from 8am and offer a early morning swim only session for triathlon training and competent open water swimmers. We do not allow lake activities such as SUP, canoes and kayaks until 9am. Swimming is also welcome between our normal opening hours.

  • Do you offer evening swims?

We do not currently have any plans to open in the evenings. Sam Holland from Wavelength swim school currently runs evening groups sessions in our lake. For further information on this, please contact Sam directly

  • Can I book to come to guarantee entry?

Unfortunately we do not take bookings, on arrival proceed to the admissions desk. If you are travelling far, please keep an eye on Facebook for the most up to date admission information.

  • Do you take bookings for swimmers/lake users?

No, you just turn up

  • Are there any toilets open?

We have portaloos onsite. These are not serviced so are used at your own risk

  • I haven’t tried open water swimming before can I still come along?

Yes you can however we would advise you speak to a coach first to assess your ability. Open water swimming is much different to indoor pool swimming. Please read our terms and conditions.

  • Can we come along as a family to paddle in the water?

Yes you can but please read our lake users terms and conditions first

  • Is there food available when I am there?

We have a number of local takeaway businesses who set up to serve on the lake for the day. We do not guarantee they will be there every day but we try and fill as many days as possible. We normally announce our vendors each morning on Facebook

  • Can I get a drink when I am there?

Yes, our ‘snug pod’ is open every day serving hot/cold drinks, snacks and Snugburys ice cream

  • Is your café open?

Yes our Cafe is open for takeaways only.

  • Do you take cash/card?

We take both but prefer card payments where possible

  • Can I bring along my paddleboard?

Yes, we welcome paddleboards, canoes & kayaks

  • Do you hire out equipment?

  • Do I have to wear a wetsuit?

Wetsuits are advised but not compulsory, please read our terms and conditions for further information

  • Is your market every Sunday?

Yes it is, 9.30am – 3pm

  • I am interested in attending the market as a trader, what do I do?

  • Are BBQs allowed

No, BBQs are strictly not allowed

  • Can I bring a picnic?

Yes – please see the costs at the top of this page

  • When will the car boot sales be back on?

We are not sure! Currently we feel car boots are not covid safe to run. As purchases come from out of  the sellers home and no covid safe training has been done by the seller, we have not scheduled any car boots for the near future. We do hope for these to resume when it is safe to do so.

  • Do you offer fishing?

No, fishing is strictly forbidden

  • Can I camp?

We do not currently offer camping at the Lake

  • I bought a voucher to use in the café and it expires whilst the café is still closed, what do I do?

Don’t worry, once the café is re-open we will extend vouchers

  • Can I still swim on market days?

Yes all facilities are open as usual on market days.
