Summer at Alderford Lake 2023

Your summer starts here! Alderford Lake is the perfect destination for summer family fun. From our incredible aquapark, holding up to 120 people. To a selection of watersport activities available to a range of age groups, and our twist on Escape Rooms. This is a must visit destination with plenty of wild activities to enjoy.

But that’s not all we have to offer! Onsite we have an incredible selection of food including our Snugburys Ice cream parlour, our bustling cafe and our Farmshop.

Or you could join us at Aldrfest2023 for Friday 30th and Saturday 1st July. Perfect for a family fun weekend jam packed with incredible music and activities.

Water Activities

Through-out summer our lake is open to a whole host of water based activities. Whether you love open-water swimming, you’re a keen paddleboarder or you’re looking for an enjoyable family day out in the water. Here at Alderford we can provide the perfect destination for everyone to enjoy.

We provide a range of activities on the water. You might want to hire equipment and are welcome to choose from our range of crafts including; paddleboards, canoes, kayaks and aqua bikes. Or maybe you would prefer to bring your own and self launch. For our customers who are not as confident on the water we offer lessons 1:1 with an instructor to help improve your skills. We also offer paddle boarding taster sessions , where you will be guided through a group session on the lake.

Not forgetting out aquapark. An inflatable playground for you and your family to go wild, get wet and have fun! Our aquapark is a great place to cool of in the summer heat and create lasting memories with friends and family. Everyone is welcome on the aquapark (according to our child policy), with the minimum age being 6 years.

For many people interested in wild swimming Alderford offers swim coaching sessions for those who may be less confident, beginners, or just looking for more experience. Hosted by friendly, like minded people our coaching sessions welcome everyone.

Wild Activities

Good luck to all those who dare to take part in our Escape Islands. A voyage across the lake to uncover mysteries and find your way back to shore. Starting with Extinction, our child’s escape islands where you and your team of explorers have 1 hour to save the last remaining dinosaur egg. Next we have Tiki Island and Curse of Camelot, both increasing in difficulty where you work together with your group to meet the final objectives of the Islands. Finally, The Forbidden Lair where you have only 60 minutes to discover the truths of this Island. Choose your challenge and have fun exploring the Islands of our lake.

We also have dry activities like our adventure trail which is a fun way for the children to explore our gorgeous woodland. Children can explore the trail around the lake to find the letters, which together make a word. Work out the word and you will gain a well earned treat when returning to admissions.

Wild activities such as our park run which takes place every Saturday at 9am. This is a brilliant event to bring our community together in a scenic spot. Also, we host triathlons during the summer!

Alderfest 2023

June- Alderford are bringing back Alderfest, 2022 was epic but 2023 is going to be bigger and better. We are so incredibly excited- the 1st of July cannot come quick enough!

With seven UK number 1 singles, six top-ten albums, seven arena tours and ten million records worldwide, they have racked up an amazing record of achievements! So please join us for a weekend packed with summer fun for you, your family and friends. Dance the night away with incredible line ups and a whole host of activities for everyone to enjoy!

Friday dance Anthems is a new addition for 2023, here at Alderford we thrive to grow and make Alderford a better place for you! Friday night featuring a stellar line up of club classic favourites delivering the ultimate anthems from the 90s and 00s, here at Alderfest there is music for everyone to enjoy.

Why not make a weekend of it? We have wild camping pitches available so you can enjoy the atmosphere of Alderfest, the music, food and Watersports available over the two days of our festival!

The Lord Chamberlain’s Men’s production of Romeo and Juliet

August- The Lord Chamberlains Men’s production of Romeo and Juliet is coming to Alderford this summer. Join us on Tuesday the 15th August as Romeo and Juliet is performed here! With a history of William Shakespeare himself, The Lord Chamberlains men present this play as he first saw it. This great love story is presented in the open air, with an all male cast and Elizabethan costumes, music and dance.

Packed with memorable poetry, devastating twists and turns and a burning passion, without a doubt this play will make a magical performance here at Alderford Lake. Romeo and Juliet, a play about the power of true love and the extraordinary sacrifices we make for it is here for you all to enjoy.

Bring a chair and a picnic and prepare to be entertained. We recommend you book online to avoid missing out. The performance begins at 7pm and the gates will open at 6pm.

Lakeside Kitchen

The Lakeside Kitchen team are passionate about using fresh, local ingredients in your food. We have seasonal specials as well as Alderford favourites. Our Lakeside Kitchen is dog friendly, if you were thinking of bringing along your fury friend our staff would love to meet them! We have outside eating areas where you can enjoy the sun and some food with family or friends. View our summer menu here.

Or if you’re in a hurry and want to enjoy some delicious food around the lake, visit our Lakeside Takeaway outlet. With lots of quick and easy refreshing food/drink options, there will be something for everyone.

Snugbury’s Ice cream Parlour

When the sun is shining and you’re in need of a refreshing treat to cool you off a pot of our ice cream is the way to go! With a variety of flavours ranging between Cookie dough, Mango sorbet (dairy free), vegan Chocolate truffle and lots more.

Drinks Bar

Alderford also have a Bar, here you can choose from a range of alcoholic and no-alcoholic beverages. Grab something cooling to drink! When having consumed alcohol please be aware you are no longer permitted to us the lake, our bar staff also require ID for challenge 25. Please bare this in mind and drink responsibly.
