Alderford 2022 in Pictures

Alderford in 2022 was definitely a year to remember. Lets have a look back at all the amazing memories we have of this year.

January

We started the year off with a massive recruitment drive to ensure we had the best team for the busy year going forward.

During January we close the site to complete maintenance needed to make sure the lake and surrounding grounds is ready for the busy year ahead. This includes the installation of new jetties and the maintenance of ramps and of the lake.

February

In February we announced our brand new festival, Alderfest headlined by the amazing Scouting for Girls with other incredible acts and activities. You can hear more about the amazing day further down the page.

In our Lakeside Kitchen you were also able to experience our tasty and popular Valentines Afternoon Tea.

March

After a lot of hard work put in by our maintenance team, in March we opened our brand new meeting and function room; The Viewpoint.

Perfect for baby showers or birthday celebrations, you can hire out this private space and enjoy the views across the lake with your family and friends.

April

Our new season started for water sports on the lake and so did our new Escape Islands!

An Escape Room like you have never experienced before. A voyage across the lake to uncover mysteries and find your way back to shore. A totally outdoor experience, only for the brave hearted.

We have had so much feedback and can’t wait to improve our ideas ready for the new season.

May

In May we had a new delivery! Of new Aqua Park pieces.

With the addition of “Monkey Business”, “The Narrows” and the “Look out Tower”, this meant we could now fit up to 120 people on the Aqua Park during one session. We can’t wait to bring it back out ready for the 2023 season!

June

We hosted our annual summer solstice swim and made plans to spread the word about Alderfest with Alderford on tour.

July

On the 16th of July we hosted our first festival Alderfest!!

With our amazing line up, array of tribute acts and activities for everyone in the family, it was a day we couldn’t forget.

From Zeus the 12ft T-Rex and spending time in the dinosaur training camp…..

to dance lessons with AJ.

We even had fireworks to end the night with a bang!

Alderfest 2022 was so much fun and we can’t wait to make it bigger and better for 2023!

August

We saw temperatures soar to 30 degrees which meant everyone wanted to cool down in the lake or enjoy some water sports.

We also hosted some immersive plays, Rapunzel and The Lord Chamberlain’s Men’s adaption of William Shakespeare’s As You Like It.

September

In September we hosted our first ever swimming competition “The Shropshire Swim”. It was a fantastic event and we look forward to holding more competitions in 2023!

October

October saw the launch of our brand new Halloween events. Witchcraft woods and Nightmare Island.

In Witchcraft woods you met the amazing wizard and witch, Winnie and Wilbur. You created your own magical wands and learnt spells to graduate from their wizarding world.

For the older ones you could experience Nightmare Island…..

Escaping from an island filled with your worst nightmares? Not only exciting to experience but incredible to put together a horrifying attraction. We can’t wait to come up for more spooky ideas for 2023!

November

One of our biggest spectacles of the year……BONFIRE NIGHT!

A great night filled with fair rides, food and a fabulous show of fireworks. This was a spectacular way to welcome the winter season.

At the end of November we opened our REAL ice skating rink with the help of AJ & Curtis.

We saw some some amazing skating as well from our talented skaters who all did some amazing routines!

We also opened our Christmas chalets which offered a range of Christmassy delights including, desserts, hot drinks, German bratwursts, loaded nachos and even some mulled wine and prosecco.

We couldn’t believe it but we were already announcing our incredible headlining act for Alderfest 2023 as well!

Of course its All About McFly!

Never in a million years did we think we would be in a position have one of the biggest bands in the country perform at AlderFest 2023. This is our biggest pinch me moment to date. We are so incredibly excited- the 1st of July cannot come quick enough!

With seven UK number 1 singles, six top-ten albums, seven arena tours and ten million records worldwide, they have racked up an amazing record of achievements!

It’s All About… MCFLY!!

Join us for a weekend of summer family fun- Dance the night away with an incredible line-ups, and a whole host of activities for all the family!

AlderFest is back for it’s second year, and we’ve come back bigger and better than 2022!

We have some amazing names to announce, with a line-up full of big names, feel good music and a sprinkling of cheese!

Alongside the line-up will be a whole host of activities for all the family.

Friday Night Dance Night is a new addition for 2023, featuring a stellar line-up of club classic favourites delivering the ultimate anthems from the 90s and 00s!

December

From our Christmas Chalets to our brand new light trail and our magical Santa Island Experience, Christmas at Alderford has been the perfect place to spend Christmas with friends and family. We have loved hosting your trips to see Santa. From the magical boat ride across the (sometimes frozen) lake to making smores and offering mulled wine. We can’t wait to make next year even more magical!

A massive THANK YOU to all our customers and staff that has made 2022 the best year yet. We can’t wait to do it all again and more next year! We can’t wait for you to see all of our exciting plans.

And with that the 2022 season has come to an end!
