Take on Shropshire’s most exhilarating water challenge. Our 135-person floating Aquapark is packed with climbing walls, slides, trampolines and obstacles, all anchored on the lake for the ultimate splash experience.
Suitable for ages 6 and over. All participants must be confident swimmers. Wetsuits recommended (available to hire on site). Sessions run daily throughout summer, book in advance as weekends sell out fast.

Open water swimming at Alderford is an experience unlike any pool. Swim in our beautiful, clean private lake with qualified lifeguards on duty at all times.
Tow floats are mandatory and available to hire if you don’t have your own. Suitable for all abilities, from complete beginners to seasoned triathletes. Coaching sessions are available with our expert open water swim coaches if you want to build your confidence or improve your technique.
Full day swim passes available. Water quality is tested regularly and results are published on our website.
SUP Hire on the Lake.
Stand up paddleboarding (SUP) at Alderford is one of our most popular activities, and it’s easy to see why. Glide across the calm lake surface, take in the Shropshire countryside and enjoy one of the most peaceful ways to spend an afternoon on the water.
All equipment provided. No experience needed, our team will get you on your feet quickly. Hire is available by the hour. Prefer to bring your own board? Self-launch sessions are also available.

Hire a kayak or canoe and explore Alderford Lake at your own pace. A brilliant option for families with younger children, canoes seat multiple people and are easy to control on calm water. Solo kayaks are available for those wanting a bit more independence.
Equipment and buoyancy aids provided. Suitable for all ages and abilities. Hourly hire available, no experience necessary.
Bring Your Own Watercraft.
Already own a kayak, canoe or paddleboard? Bring it down to Alderford and launch straight onto the lake. Self launch sessions give you full access to the water without needing to hire equipment, just turn up, check in and get on the water.
Available daily, subject to capacity. All self-launch visitors must follow our water safety guidelines and check in at reception on arrival.

New to the water, or want to build your confidence and skill? Our qualified instructors run lessons and courses across open water swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking. Open to complete beginners through to those training for events and races.
Open water swim coaching includes our Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) qualification course. Small group sizes, experienced coaches, all equipment included.

Alderford Lake’s water quality is tested regularly, with results published for full transparency. Qualified lifeguards are on duty during all swimming sessions, and the use of a tow float is mandatory for every open water swimmer.
