April is National Autism Month and it has got us here at Alderford thinking about ways in which we can adjust and adapt our offerings to ensure our SEN customers are able to access as many activities as possible.
This month, we are offering SEN friendly Escape Island sessions on our Shipwrecked Escape Island on Sunday 21st April. Whilst our Escape Islands do ordinarily have aspects which are SEN friendly such as one group at a time, electric (quieter) boat engines etc, we will be making some further adaptations to our Shipwrecked island on this date. These adaptations will include water play, sensory additions as well as picture based instructions.
Of course, if the SEN friendly adaptations are received well and receive positive feedback, we will look at implementing permanent adjustments to the island!
The first date for this, the 21st of April, is available to book now (carers go free).
