The Alderford Swim

Join us on 21st of September 2024 for Alderford’s very own open water swimming competition, The Alderford Swim.

The Alderford Swim is Alderford’s very own Freestyle Open Water Swimming Competition.

We will be hosting three separate classes for varying abilities, with staggered start times. For each distance, there will be an under 16s category, which will be awarded separately to the adults.

Course details:

First Timers- 0.3 miles= 1/2 lap of the lake (set off at 3pm)
0.6 miles= 1 lap of the lake (set off at 4 pm)
1.2= 2 laps of the lake (set off at 5:30pm)

Route: The route starts at the beach swim entry and is a complete anti-clockwise lap of the lake (or half for first timers). There will be mileage buoys in the water.

Swim caps are compulsory, and will be provided. Wetsuits are optional.

What’s included in the entry fee:

• Alderford Swim Hat
• Alderford Swim Medal for each participant
• Trophy for each class- male and female
• Chip timing and live results

Entry packs will need to be collected on the day of the event.

A presentation of medals and trophies will follow the competition.
