Ice Skating

Step onto real ice and skate beneath our covered rink before gliding out onto the open-air skating track. With the lake as your backdrop and plenty of winter atmosphere, it’s the perfect excuse to get together, wrap up warm and make some memories.
Whether you’re taking your first tentative steps onto the ice or you’re already confident on skates, our rink is designed for everyone to enjoy. Bring the family, gather your friends or make it a festive date – there’s nothing quite like ice skating to get you into the winter spirit.
For younger skaters finding their feet, our polar bear skating aids are available to hire, offering a little extra support (and a handy seat when little legs need a rest!).
Once your skating session is over, there’s no need to rush home. Warm up with seasonal food and drinks, spend some time soaking up the winter atmosphere around the lake, or take your visit to the next level with a trip to our Woodland Ice Bar – where temperatures drop as low as -12°C, complete with frozen ice sculptures, ice glasses and our ice luge.
From wobbly first laps to racing around the rink, rosy cheeks and warming up afterwards, it’s all part of a winter day out at Alderford.
From big tunes and late-night skating to K-pop parties and quieter sessions, our special skating experiences bring something a little different to the ice.
