At Alderford we try and be as accessible as we can. Hopefully this page will be helpful for those thinking of visiting us.
Firstly, we have disabled parking available on site. As you enter the carpark, proceed down the right-hand most lane and the disabled parking spaces can be found at the end of the row, closest to the entrance. We have 6 disabled parking spaces available.
At Alderford all buildings are ground floor only. We do have a small number of steps around site, such as the entrance to the Farm Shop, but we have a ramp available for this.
We have a disabled toilet in our cafe which is spacious and equipped with railings and is easily accessible as you come through the front door of the cafe, it is just on your left.
Please note that upon the entrance to Alderford we do have gravel, this only lasts for around 10 meters from the entrance and then it goes to a natural grass/dirt path. The path around the lake can in places be uneven and depending on the weather can be muddy, etc.
We welcome dogs both around site, as well as in the cafe and farm shop. We also have a number of water bowls around site.
The cafe does usually have background music on and on busy days the site can become loud, although we don’t allow speakers around the lake. If you struggle with loud surroundings it may be a good idea to bring along ear defenders just in case.
Unfortunately, Alderford does not have hearing loops installed.
We are always wanting to improve the accessibility of our site so if you have any suggestions or if you have visited recently and have some feedback for us, we would be happy to hear it so we can look to continually better our facilities. Please email enquiries@alderford.com.
If you have a blue light card, please use the discount code “bluelight” at checkout and you will be asked to show proof when you arrive.
We do also offer free carer tickets to some of our events, and discounted rates for other activities. To apply for this discount please email enquiries@alderford.com with a picture of your proof of eligibility.
At Alderford we accept; Attendance Allowance Award, Carer’s Allowance Award, Disability Living Allowance Letter, Personal Independence Payments, Armed Forces Independence Payments, or a valid blue badge.
Please include in your email what tickets you would like to book and how many, as well as date, time and which tickets are for a carer.
