We are located in Whitchurch, North Shropshire. Open daily until September. Easy to reach from Shrewsbury, Chester, Wrexham and Telford.
We have seven bell tents available to book throughout the summer season. Each tent is fully furnished with one double bed and two single beds. The bell tent area is set in a quiet, sheltered spot within the Alderford site.
You have your own space to relax and unwind after a day on the lake. Fall asleep to the sounds of nature and wake up to fresh Shropshire air.

Our lakeside camping pitches give you a great base at Alderford. Enjoy beautiful views over the lake from your pitch. All pitches are without electric hookup. This makes them perfect for switching off and enjoying the outdoors properly.
Toilet and shower facilities are available on site for all campers. Free parking is included with every pitch. As with our bell tents, all camping guests receive a 20% discount on lake activities during their stay.
Your 20% discount goes a long way. A weekend could start with a morning open water swim. Follow that with an afternoon session on the Aquapark. Finish with an evening paddle at sunset and breakfast at the lakeside cafe the next day.

All activities can be booked online in advance. We strongly recommend booking before you arrive. Sessions sell out quickly during summer weekends.


We are easy to reach from Shrewsbury (25 minutes), Chester (35 minutes), Wrexham (30 minutes) and Telford (45 minutes).
Bedding is not provided, so bring your own duvets, pillows and sleeping bags. We also recommend warm layers for the evening as it can get cool by the lake after dark. Pack a torch, portable charger and towels. Bring your swimming gear and suitable footwear for the lakeside. If you plan to cook, bring your own BBQ or camp stove and utensils. A firepit area is available on site. Matches, sunscreen and insect repellent are also worth packing.
Lake activities such as the Aquapark, open water swimming and paddleboarding are booked separately. They are not included in the camping or bell tent price. However, all overnight guests receive a 20% discount code. This is applied at checkout when you book activities online.
Bell tents and camping pitches are open daily from spring through to the end of September 2026. We recommend booking in advance during the summer months. Availability fills up quickly at weekends.
Dogs are welcome at Alderford Lake and in the camping area. Please keep them on a lead at all times and clean up after them. Be considerate of other guests. Dogs are not permitted in the lake swimming areas or on the Aquapark for safety reasons.
All pitches and bell tents are without electric hookups. There are no hook-ups available. This gives you the chance to fully switch off and enjoy the outdoors. We recommend bringing a portable charger for phones and a battery powered lantern for the evenings.
Yes, we strongly recommend booking all activity sessions online before you arrive. The Aquapark and open water swimming sessions sell out regularly during summer weekends. You can book activities at the same time as your overnight stay. Use your 20% discount code at checkout when booking.
Arrival is from 2pm. Departure is by 11am. Early arrival or late departure may be available on request. Please contact us in advance if you need to arrange this.
