Get ready for a tail-wagging day of adventure at Alderford Lake’s Dog Aquathlon — a fun-filled event where you and your four-legged companion can race, splash, and enjoy the great outdoors together!

Choose from four exciting, dog-friendly challenges:

🐾 5K Canicross (9:15am)
🐾 1.5K Canicross (9:45am)
🐾 Aquathlon – 1K run + 80m swim (10:30am)
🐾 Swim Only – 80m doggy paddle (10:30am)

What’s it all about?

Canicross: A cross-country running event where you and your dog work together as a team. With harnesses and bungee leads, you’ll navigate a scenic, safe trail that’s ideal for all experience levels.
Aquathlon: Take on a two-stage challenge! Begin with a 1K canicross run before diving in (literally!) for an 80m open-water swim with your dog.
Swim Only: If you fancy just the splash, go straight in for an 80m swim—ideal for water-loving pooches.

Equipment Requirements for Canicross:

• Canicross-specific waist belt (for the human)

• Bungee lead (max 2m when stretched)

• Well-fitting canicross harness for your dog (no collars or restrictive harnesses)
