Always wanted to try my hand at paddle boarding but never had the opportunity. Finally took the plunge and saw that Alderford Lake gave taster sessions. Booked a place and it was the best thing I did. Kicking myself that it took so long to book! The instructors were lovely, put everyone at ease and helped whenever you needed it. They gave clear instructions and guidelines and before long we were all standing up. I was clearly too ‘cocky’ at this point looked down and ultimately fell in. The instructor was there to help and guide me back up onto my board and gave a few hints to keep from falling off again. There were little games to build your confidence up too. The time went quickly but it gave me a desire to keep paddle boarding up, to the extent that I booked another taster session for the following week to build my confidence up, before I go and buy my own board.
Overall a fantastic morning paddle boarding and had the rest of the day to explore the lake. Worth every penny.
